As one of the first manufacturers of artists colours LUKAS
Künstlerfarben offered in 1964 an acrylic colour to satisfy the demand of
the artists for a modern, quick drying artist colour: LUKASCRYL pastos,
which is watermixable and paintable. After the quick drying time it is
waterresistant. LUKASCRYL pastos is versatile in application from the
thinnest glaze to palette knife technics. It got a thick and buttery
consistance with a high content of around 70
%.
Composition:
LUKASCRYL pastos contains the
highest possible share of pigments, pure and unalterated. Even the most
valuable pigments, like cadmium and cobalt, real earth from the Toscana
are purely applied. A numerous number of shades allow brilliant glazes.
Due to the quick drying time a multi-layer-glazing is possible, which
gives the impression of ancient
technics.
Binders:
The acrylic resin dispersion
ensures a drying to a waterresistant, extremely thin and transparent paint
film with excellent adhesion-properties. This thin film does not yellow,
neither in the dark nor under the influence of light. The film stays
highly elastic and respirable active. It stays resistant against white
spirit as well as turpentine oil, even sulphuric acid cannot destroy
it.
Lightfastness:
LUKASCRYL pastos only contains
pigments of the two highest grades of lightfastness. No pigment with a
lightfastness lower than 6-7 on the woolscale is
used.
Assortment:
Available are 40 shades in the
tubesizes 7 = 20ml, 9 = 35ml, 11 = 115ml and 15 = 350ml, as well as 6L
buckets on request.

Quality:
Every
charge of production is tested in the laboratory precisely to the
standards, like tone, drying time, grain, consistency (viscosity) and
density. Only ayrylic colours which are according to the high demands of
LUKASCRYL pastos are reaching the artist.
